Linking a hotspot action to the current pan valueHello everyone, Having been playing around with FPP for a couple of months (with almost total reliance on both this and the FPP forum for the tricky bits I might add), I have run up against something I'd love to be able to do but can't figure out. I'm working on a project where I would like to have small panels of text appearing inside a pano — like labels for specific objects. Thanks to a nifty bit of coding generously offered by allSaints on the dynamic text thread, I have sorted out mouse-triggered hotspots. So far, so good, but instead of relying upon the user to roll their mouse over it, what I'd like to do is trigger the transition based on the current pan value. For example, as the centre of the pano swings past a certain "heading", a hotspot fades in and then out regardless of where the mouse is. I've looked at all the 'onSomething' events, but none of them seem to be able to tap into what must be a global value. I posted this on the FPP forum a couple of days ago and Scott Witte suggested that it might be possible with flash coding. That's probably beyond my scope for now so I wondered if anyone had any other ideas? All assistance hugely appreciated. John

re: (FPP) Linking a hotspot action to the current pan value
Hey John:
You should check out the nadir image tutorial:
http://flashpanos.com/content/rotating-nadir-image-bottom-cap
In the last example in that post (which has FLAs and code provided), you could alter it just slightly so that if the pano's pan value equals (some number) you tell a hotspot to change its visibility.
Cheers,
Patrick

Hey Patrick, Sounds
Hey Patrick,
Sounds promising; I'll have a tinker this weekend (if the boys let me).
I'm a bit of a biff when it comes to Flash so I might well be back with some more questions. Thanks for the tip.
Yours ever,
John
